Dr. Carey Windler graduated from Texas Tech University with Honors and received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he was a member of the AOA Honor Medical Society. He completed his surgical internship in Philadelphia at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, his orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine, and Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Oregon. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is unique at Austin Sports Medicine with his additional board certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine.
Dr. Carey Windler | Sports Medicine
In 1986, Dr. Windler was chosen to be the orthopedic surgeon for men’s athletics at the University of Texas. For 29 years, he provided care and treatment of the athletes and continued to do so for countless players during their professional careers. It is especially rewarding now to be trusted with the care of many of their families.
Through his affiliation with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, he mentored numerous residents who studied and trained with him in Austin. Dr. Windler has served as President of both the Texas Orthopedic Association and Texas Society for Sports Medicine and is an active member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the Texas Orthopedic Association. He was inducted into the Longhorn Hall Honor in 2012 in recognition of his care of UT athletes. Dr. Windler is the Senior and Founding Partner of Austin Sports Medicine.
He has completed three marathons and enjoys backpacking, fishing and scuba. He is married with two children and five grandchildren.

A board certified orthopedic surgeon, Douglas Elenz has been practicing in Austin since 1996. He completed a Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery Fellowship at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia/Tuckahoe Orthopaedic Associates in Richmond, Virginia. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas-Houston Medical School and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the McGraw Medical Center of Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Elenz’s orthopaedic training includes experience covering both the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Steelers professional sports teams. He currently serves as a Team Orthopaedic Surgeon for Men’s Athletics at the University of Texas at Austin.
Douglas Elenz | Sports Medicine
Dr. Elenz earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a two-time captain and seven-time NCAA All American for the Longhorn Swim Team. He is a sports enthusiast and continues to enjoy swimming, traveling and photography.

An Austin native, Dr. Breazeale has practiced in Austin since 1997. He is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who completed a sports medicine and shoulder surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City . He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwest Medical School in Dallas and completed his orthopaedic surgery training at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Dr. Breazeale’s sports medicine experience includes team coverage for the New York Mets and St. John’s University tennis tournament, coverage for the ATP, and high school team coverage both in New York and Texas.
Nathan Breazeale | Sports Medicine
Dr. Breazeale graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1986 from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a team captain and four-year NCAA All American swimmer for the Longhorns. An avid sports fan, his numerous hobbies include scuba diving, hunting, and fishing.

Gary Mishoe | LVN, SA-C, OPA-C - Orthopedic Assistant
Gary has consistently made significant professional advancements in both skill and education. He has an advanced level of knowledge and skill set in both the surgical and clinical environment. He Graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and the U. S. Army Academy of Health Science as a Combat Medic and then Nurse in the U.S. Army. Upon returning from active military service which included deployments during the Persian Gulf War and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Gary returned for additional training at Baylor College of Medicine Houston becoming an Orthopedic Physician Assistant. During his time at Baylor he was involved in the care and treatment of many high-profile professional, collegiate, and elite level athletes as well as being part of the medical team for the Houston Rockets, Houston Comets, Houston Aeros, and Houston Thunderbears.
Gary is an avid cyclist who enjoys riding and racing bicycles. He is a Certified Spin Instructor and currently hold a United States Cycling Federation (USCF) license as a Category 3 competitive cyclist for Road, Cyclocross, and Mountain Bike racing. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two beautiful children.

Samantha Kidd Pittsford | Director of Physical Therapy
Sam earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of Health Science Center San Antonio in 2012 and has since gone on to become a certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association. She joined the Austin Sports Medicine Team in 2014 and is Clinic Director for the central PT clinic.
This coach’s daughter turned coach’s wife spends her spare time following her husband’s high school basketball team and caring for their growing family.

Dan Manas | Physical Therapist
He received his BS in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University. From there, he went on to earn his DPT degree from the University of St. Augustine in Austin where he completed his Manual Therapy Certification coursework. Following graduation, he began his career in a combined hospital and outpatient environment where he developed his skills working with various populations in all phases of recovery from the most immediate acute injury to chronic, long-standing issues. This experience prepared him well for his transition to Austin Sports Medicine in November of 2018 to chase his dream of working alongside athletes of all ages, to get them back to full speed and full function.
In his free time, Dan loves dancing with his wife, playing pick-up basketball and soccer, trying new food trucks; all the while figuring out how to be a dad.

Ashley Bowser | Physical Therapist
After receiving a B.S. in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Texas, Ashley earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from The University of New England in 2016. Since that time she has dedicated herself to continuing education while gaining experience in outpatient orthopedics and sports rehabilitation. So far her biggest accomplishments have been presenting at the American Physical Therapy Association’s NEXT Conference and having her work published in the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy. In her free time, Ashley loves spending time with her husband and dog, exercising, and going out for good food around Austin.

Kevin Craig | Physical Therapist
Kevin received his BS in Exercise Science from The University of Texas-Arlington in 2010, and went on to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2015. While attending this program, he completed advanced manual therapy courses via the Stanley Paris Methodology. While this has been a large cornerstone in the development of Kevin’s professional career, he has continuously performed his own continuing education to learn other approaches to rehabilitative treatments in order to best serve his patients.
Kevin joined the ASM team in July 2020, after he and his wife decided they needed a change of scenery from Dallas, where he had been working as a clinic director for a family-owned clinic in Garland, TX for 3 years. In Kevin’s free time, he enjoys running, hiking with his wife, young daughter and two dogs, as well as rock climbing, gardening, cuisine exploration, traveling when life allows it, and bouncing around ATX.

Laura Geibel | Physical Therapist
Early in her career, Laura was involved in working with athletes including serving as a Student Athletic Trainer at The University of Texas at Austin with the Longhorn Football team. Throughout her career, she has worked with patients ranging from professional athletes to geriatrics. Laura has committed her career to helping people return to the activities they love.
Practicing what she preaches, she loves to exercise and participate in various activities like hiking, swimming, and cycling. She has participated in numerous marathons, triathlons, soccer tournaments, and cycling events. In her free time, you will likely find Laura either spending time with family and friends, mountain biking, camping, watching Longhorn sports, or volunteering with her Divine Canines therapy dog.
North Austin Location

Samantha Kolock | North Clinic Director
In the early days of her career, Sam spent time working with professional and Olympic level athletes in a variety of sports including football, hockey, dance, rugby, distance running, and gymnastics.
While exercise remains a cornerstone in her beliefs, Sam understands that exercise cannot be appropriately instituted without the balance achieved in manual therapy. She is full body certified in ART, Graston, FMS, Trigger point therapy, Myofascial release, kinesiotaping, and dry needling.
She is also a certified athletic trainer, strength and conditioning coach, pilates instructor, and trained in precision nutrition.
When Sam is not treating patients, she trains as a competitive crossfit and strongman athlete. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her husband Steve and their dog Winberie. Sam hopes to one day conquer the Pacific Crest Trail.

Chrissy Moreno | Physical Therapist
Chrissy received her Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2007 & went on to earn her transitional Doctorate in 2014. Before continuing her education at the graduate level, she attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio for undergraduate Biology degree where she was part of the Delta Zeta sorority.
Chrissy knows that not every single approach is right for each patient and has spent her career being trained in a wide variety of modalities to enable her to individualize her approach to best fit the needs of her patients.
She has received her Mastery Certification in Manual therapy from Hands on Seminars, is certified through Titleist Performance Institute and Functional Movement Systems, FMS Level 1, earned Dry Needling Certification, and became a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association in July 2020.
Chrissy is excited to be part of the Austin Sports Medicine team as she has always had a passion for sports, growing up playing volleyball and softball, and participating in intramural sports in college. Her interest in Physical Therapy was first sparked when she suffered an ACL injury herself playing softball her freshman year of high school. Through physical therapy and hard work, she was able to return to sport and has continued to live an active lifestyle. Chrissy is happy to now be able to help others to do the same. When not spending her time at work, Chrissy enjoys exploring what Austin has to offer her young family.

Ross Boudreaux | Physical Therapy Assistant
Ross then received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and ACSM certification from Southern Arkansas in 2008 and became a Personal Trainer at a local gym here in Austin. After working in Austin as a personal trainer for 11 years, Ross decided to return to school to pursue a career as a Physical Therapy Assistant so that he could help individuals of all skill levels get back to an active and functioning life style.
Ross is the father of 3 daughters and when he is not playing husband and father, he enjoys golf and softball.

Katie Waters | Physical Therapist
Once she was able to move her family back home in January 2020, Katie joined the ASM team. Her experience as a collegiate soccer player and military daughter/wife help her empathize with the various physical and mental aspects involved with the rehab process. She is most passionate about return to sport rehab with special interest in the neuromuscular and psychological aspects of care. She enjoys her down time being active with her husband, daughter, and 2 fur babies.

Henry is a life-long learner and incorporates the latest clinical research in his practice. He believes in a holistic approach, emphasizing both therapeutic exercise and manual therapy. His interests and experience are in orthopedics and pre/post-operative recovery for all ages. He hopes to become an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, with a Dry Needling Certification in the near future.
In his free time, Henry enjoys spending time with family and friends, fervently following college sports, and exploring his constantly changing hometown.

Nickol Madrid | Physical Therapy Assistant
Nickol has been in the physical therapy field for 6 years working in various settings including: outpatient, sports, neuro and aquatics. She has interests in helping individuals of all ages get back to an active lifestyle. In her spare time, Nickol plays volleyball and pick-up sports in the evenings and coaches track for kids with disabilities. She also loves to travel, trying new restaurants and spending time with her loved ones.

Caleb has a passion for people, which is evident in his approach to patient care. He wants to see everyone recover and reach their full potential, not only physically but in every aspect of health and well being. Caleb aspires to be a lifelong learner, growing in his knowledge base and treatment approach for orthopedic and sports conditions. He is currently working towards his Manual Therapy Certification.
Outside of the clinic, you can find Caleb working on his own personal well being, in the gym, on the tennis court, out exploring Austin, or spending time with friends and family.
